CJSeto Support Services, LLC, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business based in Ventura, CA, has a requirement for an experienced Bookkeeper to assist with management of corporate accounting data.  This position reports to the Ventura Office Manager, and supports the Director of Contract and Finance, and Director of Corporate Services.

Summary Job Description:
Reporting directly to, create and maintain the accounting records for the company using the QuickBooks Online applications. Will enter financial data into QuickBooks for all company activities to include:  AR/AP, taxes, and financial reports.  Reconcile all accounts as needed. Interface with outside accounting experts such as tax CPA and auditors.  Assist in running and customizing reports that provide business analysis and results.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain QuickBooks Online company data. Understand the account and company setup steps and maintain a general knowledge of the major areas of the QuickBooks Online application.
  • Assist with the development and creation of company invoices and monitor accounts receivables.
  • Create and maintain vendor records, including contact information, payment terms, and any other information required.
  • Create and maintain customer records including contact, delivery and payment information.
  • Make journal entries as directed.  Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Track the cash balance and alert Managing Director or manager with regular cash flow reports.
  • Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses. 
  • Customize and memorize reports for the Managing Director and Director of Finance, outside accounting experts, government agencies, outside payroll services, and other interested parties.
  • Reconcile monthly accounts and perform account analysis on assets and liability accounts.
  • Stay current on QuickBooks updates, new feature releases and accounting rules and regulations. Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Office administrative duties and reports

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required:
  • Excellent knowledge of computers and the Internet. Work fluently with Microsoft Office, email, browsers, Windows operating systems, and PCs.
  • Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Knowledge of business and accounting terms such as profit, ROI, assets, liabilities, etc.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures, such as copying, faxing, filing, and shredding.

Education Requirement:
Minimum AA in accounting or related field. Preferred BA or commiserate education and experience.
Experience Requirement:
Minimum 3 years QuickBooks experience
Extensive experience with AR/AP
Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor or Certificate in Bookkeeping or Accounting highly desirable
Government contracting experience highly desirable.
