Environmental Specialist

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Environmental Specialist to support Marine Corps operations in O’ahu, Hawaii. 

JOB DUTIES include, but may not be limited to:
  • Managing hazardous materials supplies, including: warehousing and inventory control; barcoding materials; receiving, issuing and delivering hazardous materials to users; tracking materials.
  • Managing Authorized Use Lists, Safety Data Sheets, tracking databases (hazardous materials and wastes databases).
  • Conducting inspections of hazardous materials and hazardous waste storage areas.
  • Preparing environmental reports, such as inspection reports, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act reports, USEPA Exception Letters, etc.
  • Preparing and providing training related to hazardous materials and wastes, including, storage, labeling, disposal, etc.
  • Collecting hazardous wastes from accumulation sites.
  • Making waste determinations.
  • Processing wastes for disposal.
  • Performing research, collecting data for and responding to data calls and statistical reports requests.
  • Work closely with team members, including subcontractors and government staff, to ensure open communication for project success.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in review and interpretation of environmental regulations.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operator (HAZWOPER) certification preferred.
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) training/certification preferred.
  • Previous experience with the Department of Defense preferred.
  • Must have ability to obtain Secret clearance (pass drug test, pass background check, etc.).
