JOB DUTIES include, but may not be limited to:
  • Assisting in ensuring overall compliance with federal, state and local regulations in multiple environmental compliance areas.
  • Conducting Hazardous Waste Generator Site inspections and Technical Assistance visits.
  • Conducting wetland delineations, determinations and preparing associated permitting, reports, etc.
  • Gathering data for, analyzing, sorting and preparing data for annual Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) Reporting (Tier II and Toxic Release Inventory/Form R).
  • Performing field activities, such as sampling of media, inspections/audits, photo documentation and on-the-job training of personnel.
  • Providing support assistance to management of the Hazardous Waste Program, such as reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), preparing and conducting training, reviewing operations and waste profiles, assisting with permitting, etc.
  • Preparing environmental documentation, including National Environmental Planning Act (NEPA) documentation, Environmental Condition of Property reports (Phase I/Phase II), instructions/plans/SOPs, training packages, and other technical reports as required.
  • Work closely with team members, including contractor and government staff, to ensure open communication for project success.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in review and interpretation of environmental regulations and sampling methodologies.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER preferred.
  • Knowledge/Experience with Department of Defense/Department of the Navy environmental compliance programs preferred.
  • Knowledge/Experience with Indiana Department of Transportation environmental compliance programs preferred.
