Industrial Hygienist

Perform various Industrial Hygiene/safety/environmental services to include, but not limited to inspections, attending meetings, review of or accomplishing the facility respiratory protection program (to include qualitative and quantitative fit testing and training), confined space entry inspections and program reviews, job hazard analyses, ergonomics program evaluations, hearing conservation program reviews, heat stress program reviews, hazard communication program audits, chemical inventories, Safety Data Sheet/Chemical Inventory reviews and maintenance, exposure monitoring, hazardous waste disposal program, infectious waste handling/disposal, universal waste handling/disposal, construction safety, HazMat/Deconstruction program, indoor air quality program, personal protective equipment program, (risk assessments and selection), blood borne pathogens program review, and review of Chemical Hygiene Plan.

Desired skills/attributes
Must meet the definition of the professional code of ethics and competencies of an Industrial Hygienist by American Industrial Hygiene Associates (AIHA);
Experience and education needed to provide a comprehensive range of services at a complex medical center;
Knowledge/education relating to the health care field and industrial operations;
Expert knowledge of USEPA and OSHA regulations and have demonstrated evidence of expert knowledge of and working history with asbestos, lead, mold, indoor air quality complaint investigations, confined space risk assessments, job hazard analysis and personal exposure monitoring;
Completion of 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety Training or equivalent;
CIH preferred;
CSP or CHMM a plus;
Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
